I have heard it over one hundred times times, for pretty much every type of vendor:

"Oh, my cousin done events and will make sure the day runs smoothly, we don't need a coordinator"

"I have an aunt who used to have a flower shop and will make the flowers"

"I have a good friend who is a commercial photographer"

 

Pictures speak louder than words.  This is why it is imperative to have a team of experienced wedding professionals (in this case, photographer) (coordinator, florist, etc) on the BIGGEST day of your lives!  You could be gambling it all if you don't.

JON PROPOSED with a family ring at a sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal during a trip to India. Acacia Mansion - Nestled in the center of the Ojai Valley close to Downtown Ojai, California. "Fun and formal" is the motto of the owner, Kristina Knapic. European artisans were commissioned to create a jaw dropping two-story entryway with alabaster floors and stained glass windows. Many of the ceilings are hand painted and the sweeping iron staircase is a beautiful backdrop for photos.

 Zohe Felici's Italian blood flows through everything she does and her event-planning company is no exception. "I started the company, Italian-born, Italian-raised, born to entertain. That's the nature of being Italian," she said. I only seemed fitting to name the company after her Italian surname: Felici Events. The 38-year-old was a catering manager for Bacara Resort & Spa, where she learned she loved the special events industry. She moved into a position at another event planning company, and four years later knew it was time to start her own business.

Felici said she is a Scorpio, so naturally she wants to take on a leadership role, to drive and to take charge. Her staff consists of two part-time employees and six interns, some from UC Santa Barbara.

Felici Events mostly serves as a base for event planning and out sources the details to other companies. "I get the caterer. I'm behind the design, the decor, musicians, that sort of thing." she said.

Felici enjoys working with nonprofits, including Girls Inc. in Santa Barbara. She recently organized different events through the Jewish Federation of Santa Barbara at her other business, Southern California Mitzvahs.

Felici Events was behind developer Michael Towbes 80th birthday celebration, which benefited the Granada Theatre Capital Campaign. "We created a dinner theater experience for almost 700 people at the Fess Parker Doubletree Resort," she said. The experience included seven acts and performances.

Does Felici put on her event manager hat for her friends' and family members' gatherings? A little bit, but not too much. "I like to be pampered," she said, referring to the fact that she relaxes and enjoys events centered around her friends and family. "I definitely coordinate and put the events together though."

  • What was your first job? My brother and I used to have a mango stand when we lived in Egypt . My first real job was scooping ice cream at a parlor in Plano, Texas, at Braum's Ice Cream.
  • Your worst job? I did telemarketing for a total of 3.25 hours.
  • What was the last book you read? "The Best Laid Plans" by Sidney Sheldon.

It's almost that time of year again and the Felici Events Team is getting ready for an fabulous and wonderful wedding season! Looking back on a few of our past weddings, we found ourselves gawking at the images of numerous Bride bouquets and we thought we would share them with you! Each bouquet is so elegant and beautiful yet unique and different in their own ways.  We are so proud of our AMAZING florists!

These bouquets show a beautiful contrast of different shades of pink.  The bouquet to the left is an assortment of Garden Roses, Dahlias, and Flowing Jasmine Foliage with the stem wrapped in burlap and gold embellished pins.  The bouquet to the right is filled with Garden Roses, Peonies, and Dusty Miller. Both Arrangements were arranged by NCL Productions.

 This bouquet is comprised of Garden Roses, Lisianthus', Queen Ann's Lace, peonies, and many more intricate and delicate flowers. All adding up to make the perfect "ranch" themed bouquet. It was beautifully arranged by Juniper Floral.

This is bouquet of our most unique! The bouquet is filled with individual brooches and the stem is wrapped with purple ribbon. This bouquet is absolutely fabulous for DIY weddings and will most definitely catch the eyes of the guests!

This bouquet is simple yet beautiful and elegant.  NCL Productions incorporated Roses, Dahlias, and white feathers in this bouquet.  With the stem wrapped in a light pink ribbon with a single large silver embellished pin.

This bouquet is filled with light pink and cream colored Garden Roses and white Peonies.  The fabulous stem is wrapped with light pink ribbon with dazzling embellishment pins. This is another arrangement by NLC Productions.

On February 16, Felici Events showcased a vibrant display of neon colors at a graffiti grunge themed bat mitzvah. SOhO Restaurant and Music Club was the perfect venue for this upbeat, energetic celebration.

Upon their arrival, guests were immediately introduced to the fun theme by enormous graffiti banners lining the entryway.

Place cards were creatively displayed to mock an urban brick wall splattered with eye-catching neon graffiti.

As the adults were seated for dinner, they were blown away by the vibrant centerpieces by Juniper Designs. These gorgeous floral arrangements matched the color scheme flawlessly, as did the beautiful linens by La Tavola Fine Linen Rental.

Guests enjoyed the party from the outdoor patio beneath a tasteful covered tent provided by Classic Party Rentals. It featured a spectacle of decorated hanging lanterns and colorful lights, catching the attention of locals passing by the event.

Combined with the infectious enthusiasm of the H2H team, all of these elements contributed to an unforgettably fun and unique event! All photographs were provided by the amazingly talented Kelsey Crews of Kelsey Crews Photo.

Engagement Spotlight- Dani and Matt

Dani and Matt met through mutual friends and became good friends themselves. However it was a year and a half before Matt got up the courage to ask Dani out on a date!

 This last January, Matt and Dani were on vacation in Maui and took the infamous "Road to Hana." There they went to an out-of-the way beautiful waterfall that Dani used to love to climb the cliff, and jump off from the top to the cool green pool below.

That is where Matt got down on one knee and asked Dani to spend the rest of their lives together and she enthusiastically said YES!

 Felici Events will be there this November to help these two tie the knot at the beautiful Four Seasons Biltmore!
