Flutter Wedding Magazine Features Felici Events

It is truly an honor and it warms our hearts when Felici Event work is recognized by others aside from our clients!  We just received news that Felici Events was featured in Flutter Magazine's latest issue Summer Lovin'!

Flutter Magazine highlights our first wedding of the year located at a private venue in Hollister Ranch.  The pictures can be found on page 87 of the magazine.  The theme of the wedding was ranch chic, with colors of green, white, and neural.  Could not have captured the beauty of the wedding without Willa Kveta Photography!

Celebrating the anniversary of this WILD wedding of our #Felicified  Couple.

The details and colors of the wedding incorporated all elements, the bride's personality, bright colors of classic orange and teal, the beach, tropical foliage and the giraffes at the zoo.

The ceremony took place at the Santa Barbara Yacht Club, where the Father of the Bride is a member and avid boatman.

This is not the Dark Ages - Millennium Couples Request Unique Registry Ideas

I am sure it is no surprise that in these progressive times,  couples move in together, live together for a few years, get engaged and then get married.  Most of my engaged clients request non-traditional, unique registries for their engagement and wedding, experiences not clutter.

Felici Events has opened up the Felici Files to share with you six  websites that offer newly engaged couples unique and non-traditional registries that do just that.  From wine lovers to those wanting to purchase their new home, to the philanthropists and small business supporters.  Below are some ideas for wedding couples to register at.

Same Sex Couple Wedding Engagement Pictures

The talents of Willa Kveta took one of our Felicified couples trotting around Santa Barbara to capture amazing engagement pictures.  We started at 9 a.m. in the Funk Zone and made our way to the Lark, a few blocks over to the Wharf and West Beach, as well as downtown on overpasses.

We love the different backdrops and interesting three-dimensional settings captured to adorn these gorgeous guys. Santa Barbara is conducive to an array of settings within blocks from each other.

Seriously, could they be any more awesome!  It's like watching a Ben Affleck and Matt Damon photo shoot.  These guys are gorgeous, sweet and fun!

Congratulations Corey and Alex!  We can't wait for your BIG day!

NOTE: The Felici Events wedding planner team finds it imperative that engagement pictures happen with your photographer at some point of the wedding.  It allows for relationships to be created, a rapport both between the couple and the photographer as well as a comfort level.  IT WILL SHOW on your wedding day! We will be sure to post photos of the wedding day to prove that to you!

Indian Summer Ceremony Featured in Santa Barbara Magazine

Thanks to Santa Barbara Magazine for spotlighting the wedding of Megan McRoskey and Geno St. John III. The magazine celebrates Santa Barbara’s rich and colorful lifestyle with award-winning editorial content on Santa Barbara’s people, homes and gardens, architecture, food and wine, history, arts, escape destinations, and more.

MEGAN WAS THE girl next door before becoming Geno’s high school sweetheart and then—ten years later—his fiancée after a winter proposal in Mammoth. WEARING A MONIQUE LHUILLIER GOWN, the bride exchanged vows with the groom in an Indian summer ceremony at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church before a Felici Events-designed reception at Birnam Wood Golf Club. THE NEWLYWEDS HONEYMOONED in Moore’s Island and Bora Bora, where they kayaked, paddle-boarded, and did scuba diving.

We have the best clients ever! Thank you cards never go out of style.

Thank you to society writer Lorraine D. Wilson for the article, “Good Fortune” rich in history. Lorraine’s article was published in her Sunday On the Town section in the Santa Barbara News Press, which covers the non-profit sector and who’s who of Santa Barbara.

Thank you to Kerry Methner for the article, Good Fortune Fundraiser Celebrates Santa Barbara's Asian American Heritage. Kerry's article was published on page 34 in the June 27th issue of CASA Magazine.

The “Good Fortune” fundraiser, by the Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation, recognized the important role Chinese and Japanese communities played in Santa Barbara’s history.

During the late-nineteenth and twentieth-centuries the area in and around the Santa Barbara Presidio was a unique and culturally rich neighborhood. Chinese and Japanese communities coexisted side by side, offering thriving businesses within buildings that are now historic landmarks. The Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation honors and preserves this history in El Presidio de Santa Bárbara State Historic Park. In 2009 “Sharing Our Common Ground” explored Santa Barbara’s Asian Americans history. - Santa Barbara Independent

Event Planner Coordinates Custom Invitations for 90th Birthday Party

Example inspiration board from Event Planner Zohe Felici.
Example inspiration board from Event Planner Zohe Felici.

Custom invitations can be designed for any upcoming wedding, anniversary, or birthday party. Unique invitations are a nice addition to photos and other special keepsakes. Our event planner can help you find the perfect solution for your specific invitation needs. In this article, a 90th birthday party is our example to help illustrate the process and to give suggestions for how you might choose to design your special invitations.

Time will never stand still, and those moments that bring us such joy become memories in an instant. To capture such a moment and record it forever is truly monumental. – Joshua Atticks, Wedding Photographer

Tips from an Event Planner on Custom Invitations

Collect example images of what you want. Pinterest is a great starting point. If you are not comfortable on the computer, you can simply pick up a few of your favorite magazines and cut out images that inspire you.

In our example, the designer suggested four different photos for the invitation, and the best one was chosen by the event planner, Zohe Felici.
In our example, the designer suggested four different photos for the invitation, and the best one was chosen by the event planner, Zohe Felici.

Once the tone and vision have been set, the next step is to work with the design itself. A designer will combine the information about the event with the graphics. Event invitations include basic information such as the event’s name, date, time, location, and RSVP. In our example, the designer suggested four different photos for the invitation, and the best one was chosen by the event planner, Zohe Felici.

The final step is to review and adjust until it’s perfect. This might include changing the font, removing or adding a few words, and playing with the color choices. It is not uncommon to go back and forth two or three times to get everything right.

When you are working with an event planner, it’s possible for them to coordinate your special invitations because they will cohesively brand a full theme for your event, including all of its important information, such as the venue and guest list.  If you have any questions, or are interested in having Felici Events design custom invitations for your upcoming celebration, please contact us.

Events planner, Zohe Felici, and crew celebrate another successful Santa Barbara Jewish Festival

Every year in the spring, the Jewish Federation of Santa Barbara produces a community Jewish Festival in Oak Park. This year's event was a success and brought together all types of people from the local community in celebration of Jewish culture and the 66th year of Israel's Independence. The event planner, Zohe, has been involved in the organization of the festival for the last three years.

2014Social_Media17

2014Social_Media17

Some of this year’s festivities included entertainment by:

  • Moshav Band , an internationally acclaimed American/Israeli rock group
  • Kalinka, a popular Santa Barbara-based acoustic folk music group
  • The Jewish Federation’s JCC Teen Comedy Club
  • Lorraine Klein, a singer of Yiddish folk music
  • Flor de Kanela (“Flower of Cinnamon”)

The event took place on May 4th, at Oak Park, in Santa Barbara. This popular park is located near the downtown area and is an ideal venue for medium sized festivals like the Santa Barbara Jewish Festival. It includes a BBQ picnic area, restrooms, kids’ playground, wood stage/dance floor, parking, and plenty of room for vendor booths and other mobile event stages.

"The Jewish Festival is an important and vibrant part of Santa Barbara’s rich history and tradition of ethnic celebrations, and of the Santa Barbara Jewish community itself. It brings to the community a wide variety of entertainment to two stages, food, vendors, and information, and it includes a variety of music: ethnic and local, modern and ancient, instrumental and vocal." – www.jewishsantabarbara.org

Zohe Felici on Party Time with Scott Topper

Zohe Felici on Party Time with Scott Topper

International Event Planner Zohe Felici shares what three things she would bring if stranded on a deserted island with a party to plan.

Here is entertainment guru Scott Topper, hosting his show "Party Time with Scott Topper".

Zohe, is owner and founder of Felici Events and co-masterminder (with Scott) of Southern California Mitzvahs. She is also a longtime friend of his and his beautiful wife Angelina. (Felici Events produced their wedding in 2011),  Zohe is honored to be his very first guest (on the début) of the very first show.

There is a three person panel (the talented Kristine, charming Michelle, and myself) whom Scott interviews in order to provide the public with a glimpse inside la creme de la creme of Southern California's vendors' wild world of events.

Grab some popcorn and enjoy the show!

Party Interactive Entertainment Idea - #Madlibs

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and this past week-end, Felici Events has had the honor of experiencing just that! One of our clients hired us to produce her milestone 50th birthday celebration.  She came to Zohe's Godfather themed birthday, which took place in October at the Santa Barbara Club, and absolutely loved the party, especially Zohe's take on Mad Libs.  Zohe is a fan of having something unique and getting guests to interact rather than filling out a boring old guest book.

We made some mob-libs and had guests fill out cards rather than signing a guest book.  We don't know who had more fun that night, Zohe's friends and loved ones who wrote in the mad lib cards, or Zohe hooting and hollering in laugher reading them after the party.

This idea is perfect for any party, a mitzvah, birthday, baby shower, bridal shower, corporate mixer or event a rehearsal dinner or wedding.

Here is the inspiration for Zohe's Godfather Theme Birthday  - Mad Libs

Among the Monarchs – Wedding of Jessica and Brandt Welborn

Love_story

Love_story

love_invitation

love_invitation

When Jessica Welborn was in her late teens, her parents purchased property in the exclusive and beautiful Hollister Ranch area. She quickly fell in love with Rancho San Augustine's rustic charm and its picturesque view of the ocean, and she began dreaming about getting married there. When she met Brandt it wasn't long before those dreams started to become a lot more real. Brandt proposed to Jessica while the couple was vacationing in Costa Rica with all of Jessica's immediate family and a few friends. One morning, Brandt and Jessica had planned a stand-up paddle boarding session; while Jessica was still sleeping, Brandt woke up the rest of the family to tell them of his plan to propose, and they managed to capture it on video from the shore while Brandt attempted a proposal in some pretty hectic surf conditions. – By Joshua Brayer

The BREAST CANCER RESOURCE CENTER held its 15th annual Pink Polo Party, where guests gathered at a private estate overlooking the glistening Pacific Ocean to enjoy fruity cocktails, elegant appetizers, and a private polo exhibition. Most notably, a silent auction slap took place and items included handmade Corinna Gordon jewelry, and English countryside vacation, and a two-night getaway for two couples at Swanson Vineyard in Napa Valley.
